BTS Enters New Chapter as Last Members Begin Mandatory Military Service

Seoul, South Korea -

The K-pop world witnessed a significant shift as the remaining four members of BTS, RM, V, Jimin, and Jung Kook, officially began their mandatory military service. This marks a temporary hiatus for the globally renowned group, leaving fans eagerly anticipating their reunion in 2025.

RM and V started their journey on December 11th, reporting to an army boot camp in Nonsan for the standard 18-month service. Jimin and Jung Kook followed suit a day later, fulfilling their duty to their nation.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, RM expressed his gratitude and excitement for this new chapter: "I've been so happy to have been a part of BTS for the past 10 years. Eighteen months can feel both long and short at the same time, and I'm sure this period will be a strange and new time of inspiration and learning for all of us."

Despite their global fame and artistic achievements, the BTS members will endure the same rigorous training and duties as other Korean conscripts. The Military Manpower Administration has emphasized that they will not receive any special treatment, undergoing five weeks of basic combat training before being assigned to specific units.

Formed in 2013, BTS has captivated audiences worldwide with their infectious music, captivating performances, and positive messages. With their devoted fanbase, known as "ARMY," they have shattered language barriers and cultural divides, achieving immense success and recognition.

While fans will undoubtedly miss seeing BTS perform together for the next two years, this pause allows for individual growth and exploration. Each member has already demonstrated their creative potential through solo projects, promising even more exciting endeavors to come.

The dedication and resilience of BTS inspire us all to embrace challenges, pursue our passions, and contribute positively to the world. This temporary hiatus is not the end, but rather a stepping stone towards their return, stronger and more united than ever.

As BTS embarks on this new chapter, we celebrate their dedication to their country and their commitment to their craft. We eagerly await their reunion, knowing that their time serving their nation will only further enrich their artistry and deepen their connection to their fans.
